This one is just so soft and pastel... it's like it's from another time. Say, the sixties. It reminds me of something my great-grandmother would have in her home, and it just fills me with nostalgia for a woman I barely knew.
This one is also very hard to photograph. Yellow-green seems to be an elusive color when it comes to scanning it or taking pictures of it. You can tell from my process shots:
This is one of my favorites from this series. It's hard to explain why. I think it's because it takes a visual idea to its logical conclusion. It doesn't compromise: it is a pastel-colored picture about love, and it makes no apologies for that. It is as feminine as possible. Is that a weird thing to say about a painting? But it seems true.
