This one is just so soft and pastel... it's like it's from another time. Say, the sixties. It reminds me of something my great-grandmother would have in her home, and it just fills me with nostalgia for a woman I barely knew.
This one is also very hard to photograph. Yellow-green seems to be an elusive color when it comes to taking pictures of it. You can tell from my process shots... they come out so different than the actual picture!
This is one of my favorites from this series. It's hard to explain why. I think it's because it takes a visual idea to its logical conclusion. It doesn't compromise: it is a pastel-colored picture about love, and it makes no apologies for that. It is as feminine as possible. Is that a weird thing to say about a painting? But it seems true.
And the white-on-pastel color combination sort of bewitches and dazzles the eye. It somehow seems to carry light within it.
